Is the Lazy Lizard really closed?!? I'll be visiting the area in January and we always plan a stop at the Lazy Lizard.

It was open last time I was over. I have not heard anything about it being closed. Also check out the Sports Bar. Lloyd, the owner and other assorted characters serve up a pretty cool Trivia night 3 nights a week, as well as draft beer!

I was there last week and it's going strong.

It appears that the Lazy Lizard has closed for now. I'm not sure what the new owners have in mind, or what they are going to do.

If the Lazy Lizard closes that will hurt the tourism in Caye Caulker as it is the only place with a beach-although I find it slightly surprising to call a brokendown collapsed sea wall a beach-it is where everyone hangs out during the day-I fail to see another spot being able to be used as the other "Beaches" are used as a road.

agree with Peter on this. I love my CC trips, but after a short time walking and seeing what's new, I generally find myself at the LL hanging out and drinking all afternoon

Otter, my experiences on CC have been much like yours. Check out the ambience, see what has changed and head for the split to cool down and savor the day!!

And where else can ya sit at a picnic table 50% under water and drink cold Belikin?
