This is a great way to end the week! We've just discovered some wacky fares to Belize City, Belize on American Airlines and Continental. Not sure if this is a mistake - like the many fat finger fares of yesteryear - or what's going on, but whatevs. Belize City. Cheap. That's all we needed to hear before snagging a ticket for ourselves (which, btw, note to office: Going to Belize City in November. Is that ok? Hope so!) Move fast before the guy with the pricing gun wakes up. Fares include:

At one time there were charters on Taca to serve the Salvadorean community in Calif going to El Salvador.You would catch an onward regular flight to Belize.Folks found them at Spanish speaking travel agents.

I have to say "Thank You" for your post. It sparked a wild hair and I went ahead and bought a ticket which will get me in Belize for my B-Day(present to myself I'll call it), I will be leaving on the 5th (November that is!) until the 13th. I have not been down since 2000 and am looking foward to it. Such short notice thou I am going budget on room and board, I was thinking about Lena's the first night or two and then perhaps camping? How is the camping on the island? Anyone have any suggestions on that? If not I guess I will end up at Tina's...or?

I went there this a.m. and they said "no fares listed for location".

Try the website cakelee had recommeded <farecompare.com> Yesterday I had found most of the cheap fares there. It then leads you directly to the airline's site to complete the purchase. Good luck.

TACA still generally has the best prices from the west coast - either out of LA or SF. Flight goes to San Salvador, plane change to BZE.
